Don’t skip earlier meals to “save calories” for the evening get-togethers. This is a tough one for me! I love to starve myself all day long in anticipation of the huge party buffet that evening. However, if you arrive at the event starving, you are more likely to over-indulge in items you might now even consider eating if you weren’t on the brink of starvation.
A better strategy is to eat plenty of fiber and protein throughout the early part of the day to keep your appetite in check. You will be less likely to pig out on the bacon wrapped appetizers if you aren’t starving when the plate is passed. You can give yourself permission to take one, but you won’t be tempted to grab a handful.
