Another way to improve your health is to cut down on the fat you eat. Did you know that the average person’s fat intake is about 35% of their daily diet? A healthier percentage to aim for is 20%.
How can you reduce fat intake? Here’s a couple of simple ideas:
1. Dip your salad lightly in a side of salad dressing, rather than drizzling it over the top.
2. Cook your vegetables in broth or bullion instead of oil or butter.
3. Choose less fatty cuts of meat.
4. Remove the skin from poultry and fish.
5. Avoid processed meats and cold cuts. They are usually higher in fat and sodium than regular cuts of meat.
